Services

Do you struggle to find happiness and fulfillment in your daily life?  Have you experienced feelings of loss, grief, depression, anxiety, stress, and discomfort? Are your coping skills and strategies no longer working? Do you need a non-judgmental place where you can share your struggles and feel understood, accepted, and supported?  Counseling provides a safe place for us to work together to identify your strengths and struggles, develop self-understanding and insight, learn new skills and strategies, and implement a plan to help you identify and achieve your goals.

I am a North Carolina Licensed Professional Counselor with over 30 years of experience working with adolescents and adults in inpatient, outpatient, and residential settings.  I believe that developing a strong and trusting therapeutic relationship is the basis for effective counseling.  We will work to understand your life from your perspective, explore your strengths and challenges in a confidential environment, develop your goals and implement strategies to attain them.  My counseling style is person-centered, holistic, and eclectic.  This means I believe you are the one who knows what works best for you in your life.  You have the power to change and achieve your goals.  My role is to serve as a guide, sounding board, supporter, cheerleader, teacher, coach, counselor, and witness to your life experience.  I believe we cannot work on one aspect of you, such as psychological/mental health, without impacting you as a whole person.  In our sessions, we will not only work on your mental and psychological health but on your physical, spiritual, social, and vocational life arenas.  I use strategies from many counseling and developmental theories such as cognitive behavioral therapy, expressive arts counseling, mindfulness, solution focused therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, and body centered work.  I choose strategies based on your needs which may include issues like depression, anxiety, stress, PTSD, women’s issues, ADHD, anger management, trauma and abuse, grief and loss, family issues, relationship concerns, parenting issues, and life transitions.  Take the first step and call or email me to begin your journey! Your initial consultation is free and will allow us to explore ways we might best work together or determine if other resources are better suited to your particular concerns. Additionally, feel free to contact me with any questions you might have.  I look forward to hearing from you.
